What is Kanopy?
Kanopy is an award-winning video streaming service providing access to more than 30,000 independent and documentary films ─ titles of unique social and cultural value from The Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, Media Education Foundation, and thousands of independent filmmakers.
I don't have an Ilumina Public Library card. How do I sign up?
You need a free Ilumina Public Library Card. Sign up for a library card at our website: iluminalibrary.com
Library cards are free to all El Paso County residents.
How do I sign up for Kanopy?
You can visit this page to download the Kanopy app to your smartphone or tablet, or to use it on your computer. Once you have downloaded the app, click "Get Started" then click "Find Library". You can search by our library name - Ilumina Public Library - or by our ZIP code - 79928.
Once you've selected Ilumina Public Library, plug in your library card number and then fill in your information. Make sure to check the box that confirms you are 18 years or older and click "Sign Up." Now you can enjoy countless movies for free!

Does Kanopy have content for kids?
Yes! Click "More" at the bottom right and then click on "Go to Kanopy Kids" to access kid-friendly titles. Videos watched in Kanopy Kids do not count towards your monthly 15 tickets.
